What's Working Wednesday

 

I am starting a series today, of sharing what is working at my school. This is a BROAD heading. One day it may be a freebie I found to use in my classroom, next week it maybe a TPT/TN product that works .....

So today I'm going to share one a coworker found on pinterest ...then my idea 

Amy shared these Addition Strategy Printables

My coworker in 2nd Grade had the "Know your doubles" printed out and was using it as a guide for the kids. I had the idea to print on my large format printer at home (can go to 13 x 19 but did it 11x17)

You can do this at any office store ....and viola instant Anchor Chart! Also Amy has subtraction strategy posters freebies too! Thanks Amy!

I will share more every Wednesday, today we got out early (HELLO MOTHER NATURE it IS SEPTEMBER...due to 90+ heat, by midmorning I scrapped my 2 lab plans, and said let's watch a movie in the lab with the air on full blast until they go home) Love Magic School Bus for days like this! Allergies are going nuts in this heat, but then like true weather in IL, we will be back to 60's as the high by the end of the week! Catch you later

I want to go back

So as I have been talking about I went with friends to Vegas on MLK weekend......

I so needed this break ....hired someone to stay with mom, and just went to see Tim and Faith, and played the slots for the first time.....how did I do.....

Can we say hello TPT buyer of the year fund.....LOL.......

Right before we left, I walked into the Kindergarten room to drop something off, she was looking at a conference brochure .....(now remember I am the QUEEN of links, I send my coworkers links to blogs, TPT, and TN stores at least twice a day....little behind with trip) so she says she is filling out her form to go, I look down and see this.....

Kim Adsit, Heidi Butkus. and Jim Gill all in one place, I was dying....I had to go, then she flipped to the next page and I saw this......

I screamed.....That is THE Deanna Jump.....So as fast as my feet could take me, I went to the boss and requested told him I was going . I had a plan see we are only allowed x amount of profession development money per year. And coming up is my annual trip to IRC  ! So I knew he would a) ask me to chose one or the other b) say no but I had a plan c) use personal days and pay for it out of pocket! That is how excited I am to go see these people. I think of them as the go to people when I am working with Kinders/Firsties ! Even better look what they are having.....

Speaking of Vegas, the title of this post is I want to go back (we didn't wear coats all weekend 5 degrees at Chicago when we got home....blech) just a great place to go and have fun.....Look what is coming in July....Hmmm.....thinking of going Anyone else????

BTW....Office Depot HAS been good to me, and Staples just this past weekend refused to price match.....of course they lost the sale. Office Depot isn't close to me, but so worth the drive or even better the deals online (just wish they offer their $ deals online) ........Ok, guess I best get some sleep, I have some projects to do before I return my niece to her mother....(she is flying out to my little sister's in MD next week, and hmmm her mother would like to see her before she goes)

And I blame it all on Reagan and Farley for enabling me with their awesome awesome Linky Party ! 26 items later, 5 billion new freebies (new to me) and my wishlist grew (it was hard to stop buying)! Have to say girls A BIG THANK YOU!!!!, for doing it for the buyers like me! I found some new blogs to stalk read, new items I didn't know existed! So thanks gals, it did help that I did my taxes and the return was deposited in my account Monday! Now off to buy printer ink, as I am off the rest of the week :-( due to my mom being in the hospital.(I am SO not liking being the "responsible, reliable" daughter in the family) Some of these items will come VERY handy for my sub!
