SERIOUSLY....where did the summer go.....June was spent under water here in the Midwest, and NOW we need rain, and it is 4th of July weather in September...Welcome to IL weather!! Ok, here we go....

Finally got our 30 year old TV antenna fixed and now watching shows of my youth...

Loving......

When one has dogs from classroom left over reuse them in the garage

I have started and stopped the garage many times before, but this time I did it.....

Wanting......I was so enjoying not having the air on and the windows open.....

Needing......

So this summer someone dumped 2 cats, neighbor took one, the other here was preggers, 4 kittens later, momma moved babies into my nice clean garage for safety sakes.(live in country where coyotes and owls are numerous) 

3 Goals....1. Starting to get my mojo back and it felt soooooo good to organize the garage (oh like a cabinet hung from Grandparents home that sat since 1998)

2. At this point in my life, I am still helping but I am doing it on MY TIME, when I choose so

that it doesn't consume me again.

3. I need to get back on this, I did well and then ....walking the dog

Got this new fan for Christmas (I am one of those people who'd rather have what I need ) The light is not very bright at all! But that gave me an excuse to get more table lamps :) 

Loving :

I am hard on computers, I use them for everything...but I found that the HP one I have was known to have overheating issues and it kept shutting down on me (I was out of warranty) so I conquered my fear of Windows 8 and got this one..... Now if I could get used to touch screen (I use the mouse most of the time but at times it goes ninja on me and touch screen only) 

Thinking:

I have so many to do's I have to make a master list then break it down to daily to get things done....

Wanting:

I have gone 110% at life for so long, now that I have taken a step back, I have found that I am exhausted mentally and physically so taking things day by day. But I sure wish that my motivation or mojo would come back soon.

Needing:

There are so many things that went wayside and slowly but surely getting them done, but I need to get more done. (For example had an electrician come out to put fan in (so not DIY'er in that department) and his list was so long he was here for 3 hours to complete it all. 

Yes, Maybe, I wish

I will walk more, so need to get back in the habit with my puppers we both have too much junk in our trunks :)  

The basement....while I am getting the rest of the house in order, the basement has always been a dumping ground, some what organized but not quiet there..

.I need to find a good how to for time management skills, I get working on projects and lose track of time and get farther behind!!

Thinking.....Casey & Draco ....our community lost them this week to a drunk driver.....while I did not know him as well as some of the other police, he was a great guy. Please Please take time to thank your police officers.......

Needing.....Lesson Plans done, just found out that I need to redo my schedule due to Title funding bumped up ....sigh....happy more funding but means juggling around lessons and times .....OY

Currently June

We are flooding here in IL,

Listening, This was a week ago, and we have had more and more rain.....all those fields to replant ....

Loving....School got out at 9:15 yesterday, long year personally....

Thinking......My to do list includes use ACDSEE to organize all my TPT and TN files and freebies.....Then all my ebooks, books and children's books with this and this !

Wanting.......Back story, prior to our new tech person, I suggested countertops be installed in my classroom (computer lab/reading) well it got shot down.....fast forward to current tech person.....All 3 of our district's labs are getting countertops. When they (school board) came in to look at my room, they decided that the plaster walls in it would not work ....so they found a room with cinderblock ......just happened to be another person's classroom....it hasn't been an easy move.....Add in that we getting 3 new administrators ....keeping the peace just not a priority with outgoing one......at one point this week I seriously thought about quitting. Countertops in June, computers in July, move in ????


Needing: So we had our Fun Day on Wednesday (High of 88 and no rain woo to the hoo) My niece always gets out of school before we do, and this year was no different she LOVES to come help in the sponge relay I usually run.....This year it turned into Let's drench Auntie station, who burned so bad on her shoulders, neck and chest I am miserable, you do know what you use your shoulders for until it hurts.....cooling gel is my friend......


3 Vacay essentials .....sunscreen (waterproof) ..see needing, internet ....with storms went to work to download massive files from HERE....to find no internet ....then to investigate massive problems.....think got struck....OY....No interruptions...seems like both at work and home,  interruptions are ALL the time, and I never can finish anything.....

Ok there you go.....As I do my to do list for school I will share :) thanks for hanging in with me! 

Currently and Lord have Mercy 17 days.....

left and counting....I BEGGED today be called for ....no not a S Day (S word is snow) nor act of God day...but today is Tim McGraw's Birthday...(23 hopefully days until I see him again) but SHOCK they said I could take a personal day.....but no to the entire school.....darn ........Now on with the show.....Currently with the fabulous Farley and May Currently.....

Listening.....I really didn't plan this, it came on the radio....I so think we should have a Margarita machine in the lounge....Just sayin  :)


Loving......I am loving the warm weather here in IL.....getting plenty of Vitamin D from outdoor recess  :)

Thinking.....about school, so many things going on, learned when I came back from Spring Break not only am I getting the countertops installed (since my room is really computer labs) but I am moving classrooms......this is after I finally started getting things in order in the old one....Plus I am swapping with someone who does NOT want to move! But when the school board makes the call, I can't do anything ....So time to start from scratch....I won't know the new layout until the countertops get installed.....which means no pre planning......

wanting......With everything going on with mom (she is home but not quite up to speed) I made goals to get all my organization projects done during May then I had the summer to catch up on the much neglected projects of School and home.....Wish me luck, I don't know about you but Lord Have Mercy am I whipped when I get home at night, add in being caregiver......I will get them done :)

 needing.....to lose weight....Only I am to blame for gaining too much weight .....now I have to get back into shape....I need to find the balance as right now I am cooking (without the fire department being on stand by may I add) for my mom, who needs to GAIN and I need to lose.......OY

Summer Bucket List ......

Projects....I AM THE QUEEN OF UNFINISHED PROJECTS.....I have the ideas, the materials in some cases, but then my life gets in the way, this summer I am going to get some of those projects done......

IKEA and New Classroom go hand in hand .....I am thinking things to use in my new classroom from IKEA....

Currently April

One hour and 15 mins left of March as I write this.....

Spring break was this past week, On Wednesday was pumped I had helpers here (ok fine teenagers who can handle steps better than this late 30's person) and I was going to get the basement and garage done ......First load to burn pile (in the country we have mass burn piles and it was warm woohoo) I heard a thump in the house, I instantly knew what it was....my mom....turned to the gal that was helping....and ran ......My mom had tripped on rug in kitchen, long story short, she fractured her hip. Ambulance ......up all night with her prior to surgery.....needless to say my plans for Spring Break came to a screaming stop.....I ask to please say a few prayers she did WONDERFUL in surgery (first surgery in 64 years) but her mindset is that she is invincible ....but she is not, she needs rehab to learn how to walk again, but at this point is refusing more than a week .....It is a Nightmare.....add in that more cuts are coming at work.....can I hide under a rock and come out for Summer?

So my currently is
Loving .....Spring glorious Spring.....no more snow.....Right.....have I mentioned I HATE SNOW.....we lucked out at 5 the last one (may I mention it was already Spring) but to the south of us in IL got 12 inches + ....

Thinking.......What I can salvage with one day left of Spring Break on my to do list in between hospital visits.....I have a STACK a mile high from work that I really need to sort .....

Wanting.......My mom to do an 180 go back to the night before surgery .....and all those promises she made when she was scared of dying during surgery.....she would keep them.......

Needing......I don't sleep 4 hours tops add to this week...I need to catch up on it.....

Advice......In this thing we call life, I have discovered that friends are the family we choose (I have an Aunt and Uncle who have always been/still are my rocks) I found out that my friends were there during this week more than my sisters were......AND they got me.....they got my intentions & my heart.......So my advice is cherish your friendships, laugh, cry, shop and enjoy them.

Listening....Snow really? Seriously, I live on a blacktop that if someone sneezes it becomes black ice...so snow.....I mean personally DREAD snow as it usually happens when I have things to do....

Loving ....I swear if we had to go back this week, I would be insane...Last week LOVED having the family, time to start tackling projects, but no way ready to go back.....Bonnie...I used to work with her at school, she was our night time janitor. Then due to budget cuts, she was RFT'd...she has been helping my mom and I get our lives in order since Thanksgiving...God Bless Her.....

Thinking........Vegas ....My first trip, vacay (3 day weekend) non work related since 1999....Getting a BIT excited.....(My poor facebook friends have had a countdown since I bought the tickets in August) But I NEED this....best bud/coworker and I and another friend....

Wanting.....for 14 years since this house was built no mice inside, 1 day of 11 year old and 13 year old nieces not shutting inside garage door....did I mention that I am TERRIFIED of mice dead or alive.....these mice run over the traps, avoid peppermint, OY.....MOM.....let's be honest, since she retired she has gone from 150 mph to 0 mph....and being a caregiver is not easy to your own parent....I want my MOM back, but the family Dr said I need to accept that it will not happen....Organized....I am proud to say that in the midst of the chaos of my life, I am getting there...but still A LONG way to go, but it has been so great with what I have done.....


Needing.......A nap....when my little sister and family was here, I was better, but so negative in sleep since (and really for awhile) last week, I HAVE to get back on track.....

Currently December....

How in the world did December sneak upon us??? Here is my currently

Listening .......My puppers snores alot (probably as life has been so crazy he and I's walks are missing and we BOTH need to lose some junk in our trunks ;) )

Loving.....My nieces (11 & 14) came out the night before Thanksgiving and stayed all weekend. Whew, was I exhausted when they left Sunday night! We had a list of things we wanted to do (I taught them the finer points of Online Black Friday as only a techie Auntie can do) and we also got some Christmas lights up around the house! Woohoo! My sister from MD, and family came for Thanksgiving day so it was a mad house, but LOVED every second! We decided to take pictures with our mom, we had my brother in law take them at half time (we schedule things around his football watching) ....They were HILARIOUS.....between dogs (hers and mine) and nieces.....

Thinking and wanting....Since I have Jingle the elf visiting the classrooms starting Monday thru the 21st .....I am getting all his tricks lined up....My pinboard dedicated to the subject can be seen HERE!  He starts in our PreK room on Monday. If I had a penny for every time I have said .....In my daily email to Santa I sure hope I don't have to add you to the naughty list....I would be a millionaire.....Jingle will have his hands full.....He will be visiting the Kinders Tuesday, and if a class needs some reminding it is them.....LORD HAVE MERCY ON MY SOUL.....Of course it is the day we have our lockdown drill....With this bunch of Prek-3rd fingers crossed it all works out! (I told the boss I think next years calendar should reflect No School between Thanksgiving and Christmas, and no Full Moon's either....can we say the students are C R A Z Y, he said he work on that ;) )

Needing....A Nap, but then lately it seems I am catching myself coming and going.....weekends I have been working to get the house ready for Christmas, on top of the other billion things......I am tired ....How many days until Christmas Break.....?

RAK.....I have 3 friends/coworkers that do Daily 5, and they will tell you that I am constantly sending links to the blogs, TPT/TN stores, but while doing my Black Friday shopping I came across THESE, how perfect would they be for a center?? Jingle will be "delivering" them.....I LOVE doing RAKS.....

First, my thoughts and prayers go out to those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. My heart aches when I see the videos.


Second, Currently

 
This was a short week for me, as I said my mother's health is again not well. At one point last week, we thought she would have to go into the hospital. But the tests came back improved, so the journey out the woods is going. It was when the Doctor say the words failing....that I HAD to find something
good to focus on. Hence the 30 days of gratitude. So my week consisted of 2 days. We had today off for P/T conferences (ours were Tue/Th nights for the classroom teachers)

My coworkers and I did over my room for Halloween, had I not been out once or twice a week, I would had time to take pics. But will before I take it all down....and put up November. I soooo need a fairy godmother, with a flick of her wand my classroom and house could be clean and organized! Sigh, guess it IS up to me :) As for the music, for reading and labs, I share the room with computers so when not "teaching" the kids have headphones on, so I usually have Tim McGraw on!

Well, Here is my Currently for OCTOBER?????!!!

Lord have Mercy on my soul! This year has been EXHAUSTING .......I frequently have been catching myself coming and going.......The To Do list keeps growing ......I may run out of Sticky notes ..... I used up all of my creative juices in August on my coworkers room, then I hit my 2nd wind this week (more than once the boss said.....You really did mean you are going for the minimalist look huh) The tech guy (who oversees the computers in my room/lab) may or may not answer my phone calls any more.....esp the ones that start with "I had an idea about moving" He did give the ok to SHIFT.....but let's just say I will push that word to the very limit by the time it is done.....LOL

Do you dress up at Halloween?  We do our PBIS quarter celebration, (stations) then class parties are back, with a parade, My Glinda costume, sits neglected again, I think we are going to do simple this year....more when we decide......LOL (25 of us agreeing might be fun)

Now, on to the books

Time to Sleep is "fallish" in this neck of the woods, as it is time for bear to hibernate BUT first he must tell snail, who must tell.....One year at Reading convention the author and her husband were given our room by mistake (while we were still in it) Delightful woman, great books check her out if you get a minute.....

Hello, Harvest Moon is the moon to which traditionally comes during late fall harvest, but due to the drought they were calling the latest moon the harvest moon, as we are harvesting our drought stricken crops here in IL.....It tells the story of what happens during a harvest moon, with a girl and her cat, and other "creatures of the night"

Room on the Broom is a cute story to read about a friendly witch who shares her broom with ones that help her out......pull this out for my younger ones at Halloween time....they love it.....

There you have my currently, off to shower again, I showered before work, but got a little dirty thanks to a Kinder at recess ...My Little Sister is coming for a one night only visit tomorrow so had to tidy up before the shower or I was afraid I would be showering 3 times today! Night all!

Seriously, August already? Didn't we just have June currently......I am a rubber band being pulled
towards school and home. Our library project has been plagued with tech issues, Currently my router at home died(waiting for ISP to call and say new one is ready), and the ones at school HATE me...(not really but it felt like it) So today I am catching up on the non techy things as living in BFE without good cell coverage it is touch and go......I am going to take this as a sign from God to slow down, and get to work on the other 50 billion things I need to do, and get back at the tech stuff tomorrow. No more meltdowns or at least not the big ones....Be back soon with things I have done, and hopefully completed library pictures and tips. TTYL

I am sure Farley meant a trip but seriously people, a person who is obsessed enthralled with Tim McGraw as I am, but poor like most school staff....it's # one on my list! LOL....Also everytime I help one of the Kinder Teachers she says what can I get you and I reply a trip to IKEA.....after starting this cleaning overhaul of school and home, I am making lists....hmmm wonder if she would rent a uhaul.....best get some sleep have to get my hair cut, so can't go to bed at 6 am like I have been lately.....but in doing this I have then slept for 7 hours instead of my normal 4 or 5 hours.....Hmmmm....wonder if I could have night computer labs this school year! Catch you later!

 I put in a proposal to the boss about next year and now I am trying to find grants. We don't have a grant writer. Nor do I play one on tv! Found a couple that could work, now putting my ideas into words! I am so much more of a visual person, I can show you but writing it out...blech......back at it, one more day off, so best get on my to do lists!
