What to say....

What to do.....For many years I struggled to find a job that I felt innocence left in the world. I found it almost 11 years ago. We lost a child last year to child abuse, I said after that, let's not let her death be  in vain. Let us learn from this. One child's death crushed my heart, 20 (plus the ones from the trenches just like us) has left me with a huge hole. But I truly believe they are in Heaven so there is comfort in knowing they are at peace.

Today, most of the Prek-3rd graders did not speak of Friday. We did not speak of it to them, let the innocent stay that way. I had to turn off the news this weekend, as I just couldn't fall apart for the 100+ students I see during the week. They needed me to be strong. This was shared on Facebook, and it sums up how I feel ....

On Friday, my mom was devastated at the thought that could have been me, just like one of the Sandy Hook teachers. I told her and my family, without hesitation if it was me or one of the students, it is going to be me. What can we learn from this? My coworkers and I asked each other and ourselves this.....  God Bless Sandy Hook Victims and everyone who loved them.
